Terms of service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Learn Terminal, a browser-based terminal course operated by Uwchlan Companies LLC ("Learn Terminal," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms.

If you are using Learn Terminal for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.

Learn Terminal teaches shell and command-line fundamentals through lessons, exercises, and an in-browser practice terminal. The browser terminal is a learning environment and does not make changes to your computer.

Commands you run outside Learn Terminal are your responsibility. Read commands before running them on your own machine, especially commands that delete, overwrite, move, download, or change permissions.

You sign in with a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure. If you believe someone else has access to your Learn Terminal account, contact us at bryan@uwchlan.co.

A Learn Terminal account grants one person a personal, non-transferable right to access the course material. Do not share your account, resell access, or use the course content to create a competing course or product.

You agree not to:

• break, probe, overload, or interfere with the service;
• try to bypass access controls or account limits;
• copy, publish, sell, or redistribute course content;
• use Learn Terminal for unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity;
• misrepresent your identity or account information.

Learn Terminal, including its lessons, exercises, interface, code, text, design, and other course materials, is owned by Uwchlan Companies LLC or its licensors. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

You may use the course for your own learning. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, sell, or create derivative course material from Learn Terminal content without written permission.

We may update lessons, change features, fix bugs, or discontinue parts of the service. We try to keep Learn Terminal available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Learn Terminal is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

The course is educational content, not professional, security, legal, or operational advice. You are responsible for evaluating commands, tools, and workflows before using them outside the course environment.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Uwchlan Companies LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for claims related to Learn Terminal will not exceed USD $100.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk for the service or other users, or use Learn Terminal in a way that is unlawful or abusive. You may stop using Learn Terminal at any time.

These terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
