Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Uwchlan Companies LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you use Learn Terminal. We collect the information needed to run the course, provide account access, support learners, and keep the service working.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Learn Terminal for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Learn Terminal, we may collect:
- account information, such as your email address, account identifier, sign-in session, and timestamps;
- course information, such as lesson completion status and saved progress;
- support information you send us, including messages, email address, and any context you choose to include;
- technical information processed by our hosting and security providers, such as request metadata, IP address, browser/device information, log events, and error diagnostics.
Local browser storage
Learn Terminal uses your browser storage for preferences and local learning state, including theme preference, lesson progress before or during sign-in, and lesson reading layout settings. You can clear this information in your browser.
Commands typed into the in-browser practice terminal are processed for the lesson experience. They are not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
How we use information
We use information to:
- create and maintain your account;
- send magic links and account emails;
- provide course access;
- save progress across sessions and devices;
- respond to support and account requests;
- monitor reliability, diagnose errors, and protect the service;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations.
Service providers
We use third-party service providers to operate Learn Terminal. These providers may process information for us only as needed to provide their services:
- Cloudflare and Void for hosting, routing, logs, and database infrastructure;
- Better Auth for authentication flows;
- Resend for email delivery;
- Google Fonts and other browser-loaded assets for the site experience.
When we share information
We may share information with service providers, when required by law, to protect Learn Terminal and its users, to respond to lawful requests, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
We keep account and course progress records while needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting obligations. We keep diagnostic logs for a shorter period unless needed to investigate an issue.
Your choices
You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your account information by emailing bryan@uwchlan.co. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some records, such as security or legal records, may need to be retained even after an account deletion request.
You can unsubscribe from non-essential email if we offer it. Magic links and account/security emails are service emails and may still be sent when needed.
Children
Learn Terminal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at bryan@uwchlan.co.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, so you should protect access to your email account and devices.
International use
Learn Terminal is operated from the United States and uses service providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the service, you understand that information may be processed where privacy laws differ from those in your location.
Changes
We may update this policy as Learn Terminal changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as by updating this page or sending an email.
